CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW: Girl Scouts is undergoing an amazing transformation in our community, but we remain focused and committed to our mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Through community support, Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is able to reach 49,000 girls across 49 counties in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin with hundreds of leadership development programs, resources, and camp experiences. We provide girls with an opportunity to be bold, to try new things, and to make their dreams come true. Girl Scouts has as a strong tradition of preparing women to become confident community leaders. Today’s girls will be tomorrow’s courageous leaders in all industries and professions, including science, business, technology, arts, and more. Girl Scouts reaches out and engages all girls in our community to build their leadership skills in a safe, and nurturing all-girl environment in which they can discover new skills and talents, connect with others, and take action in their local and global community. Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys values the individuality of every girl and believes she should be given guidance and experiences to help her develop her talents and discover for herself who she wants to be. We are committed to inclusiveness and treating all individuals with dignity and respect. We are conscious of and responsive to the changing environment so that Girl Scout experiences allow girls to thrive. We have a responsibility to enrich the families and community through our program for girls and believe that the development of girls is of vital importance to our community and the world. Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is committed to accountability and we would like to thank the Charities Review Council for the opportunity to demonstrate this commitment. | | | |
