CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW:
The YWCA of Minneapolis (YWCA) was founded in 1891 by a group of women pushing the boundaries of social acceptability: women working outside of the home. For 118 years the YWCA has been a leader in social change as it has pursued its mission of empowering women and girls and eliminating racism. Today, the YWCA continues its tradition of social action through its work on wellness, youth and child development, public policy and racial justice. In addition to being a member of the YWCA of the USA, in 2007 the YWCA became a full affiliate of Girls Incorporated®. The YWCA is proud to meet all of the standards of the Charities Review Council. For more information about the YWCA or to make a gift, please visit our website at www.ywcampls.org or contact the Organizational Advancement Office at 612-215-4137.
