    CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW:
The Diversity Council is creating welcoming and inclusive communities through education. Our educational programs are based on a research-driven logic model that links curricula to long-term prejudice reduction. In 2006-07, we taught 13,720 students to imagine, and then work to achieve, a world without prejudice. In addition, 2,000 adults participated in our programs, examining white privilege, inclusive workplaces, cultural proficiency and mutual respect. Through electronic newsletters and quarterly newspaper pages, we challenge stereotypes and share change-generating strategies. We collaborate with other community organizations on efforts to eliminate discrimination. The impact of prejudice is not confined to individuals targeted by stereotypes - it also limits the success of persons unable to work productively with those perceived as different. Therefore, our "clients" are all Olmsted County residents. When everyone contributes and works together, communities succeed. We thank the Charities Review Council for enabling us to share our commitment to accountability with our supporters.
