CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW:
We are happy to participate in this thorough process. We are proud that we meet the standards.
We have provided over 26 years of successful service! Dakota Woodlands is the only short term housing facility for homeless women and children in Dakota County. Families stay as long as necessary to help them move from homelessness to housing of their own. During this time, residents are provided with a variety of services which address their issues related to homelessness and help them to successfully obtain and maintain permanent housing. Though our house is full with 21 families with different issues and circumstances related to homelessness, we help with those issues… one family at a time. Over 85% of our residents move successfully to safe, affordable housing. We follow up with continued supportive services for former residents.
A few things are very unique about us. Our facility is gorgeous. We have wonderful partners and collaborators to meet family needs. Many volunteers, especially youth volunteers, provide valuable services for our residents and our organization.
