CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW: Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance (MMLA) provides free civil legal services to people in 20 Central Minnesota counties, including Hennepin. In addition, our Minnesota Disability Law Center serves people with disabilities throughout the state. In 1913 the first full-time attorney for Legal Aid described its mission as “To render legal assistance gratuitously to those who are unable to procure assistance elsewhere, and to promote measures for the protection of such persons.” Our mission is the same today.
Programs and services address the concerns of today’s families and individuals; housing and housing discrimination law, tax law, elder law, youth law, education law, immigration law, disability law, family law, tax law, and public benefits law. In addition we do public policy work at the county, state and national level. We serve urban and rural clients, and collaborate with many organizations to broaden our reach into the community. Our services work to bring justice for all. | | | NON-CASH DONATIONS
