CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW: Minnesota Children’s Museum’s “sparking children’s learning through play” for more than 25 years is evident in everything we do, from exhibit development to educational programming to community and school partnerships. The Museum opens its doors to nearly 400,000 annual visitors who engage in the important work of play. | Other Affiliations/Accreditations: Minnesota Children’s Museum received the 2006 MetLife Foundation and Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Promising Practice Award for it Wakanheza program, a community-wide initiative focused on strengthening and enhancing museum staff’s interaction with children, youth and families in a peaceful, supportive way.
The Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded Minnesota Children’s Museum a $150,000 Museums for America grant in 2005.
IMLS will fund Minnesota Children’s Museum’s Community Faces and Places initiative, a project created to establish deep and enduring relationships with the culturally rich West Side communities.
