CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW: The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities serves over 16,500 youth ages 6-18 each year, with a daily attendance of over 1,000 youth. The seven inner-city sites are open Monday-Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. when school is in session and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer months and school release days. The Clubs provide safe-havens for youth that provide guidance through a range of programming in five core program areas - Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Activities are designed to build positive self-identity for boys and girls. Club programs instill a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence which promotes and enhances healthy development in boys and girls. | | | |
