CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW: The Animal Humane Society, Humane Society for Companion Animals, and Greater West Metro Humane Society merged on December 31, 2006, to form one organization with five locations in Golden Valley, Coon Rapids, St. Paul, Woodbury, and Buffalo, Minnesota. Our history of service dates back to 1878, and together we serve the entire Twin Cities metropolitan area and provide outreach programs throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We receive no government funding and no funding from national humane groups. We depend on the generous financial support of the community to help us carry out our mission, and we work extremely hard to use donations wisely. In 2006, 76% of every dollar received was spent on animal and veterinary care, education and outreach. Animale Humane Society is committed to financial accountability and transparency and we are pleased to have the Charities Review Council support us in these efforts. If you would like more information about Animal Humane Society, please visit our website at www.animalhumanesociety.org or call 763-522-4325. | | | |
