    In 1994 the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits was the first state association of nonprofits to develop a set of accountability principles and management practices for nonprofits. By participating in the Accountability Wizard, MCN is continuing to advance its longstanding goal of open access to comprehensive policies for strong public accountability.

    MCN builds on longstanding partnerships with a wide variety of organizations in Minnesota and at the national level to accomplish its goals – to strengthen the work of Minnesota nonprofits. MCN works with nonprofit managers and board members, elected officials, business and civic leaders, community representatives, and the philanthropic community in all of its work. MCN aims to support and has developed long-term partnerships with other nonprofit organizations that serve Minnesota’s nonprofits including: Campus Compact, Charities Review Council, LegalCORPS, MAP for Nonprofits, Minnesota Council of Foundations, Minnesota Real Estate Foundation, Nonprofits Assistance Fund, University of St. Thomas Center for Nonprofit Management, and the Volunteer Resource Center.
