Accomplishments
West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust dba Homes Within Reach increased the number of permanent affordable homes in the western suburbs of Hennepin County by ten, cumculatively assisting 81 families in owning their home; thus providing homes to those who would not be able to own a home and protecting the one time investment in making the home affordable.
The impact of the program includes but is not limited to; expanding homeownership opportunities, maxiumizing the use of existing homes and the community's infrastructure, enhancing residential stability and preserving affordability.
Current Goals
West Hennepin Affordable Housling Land Trust dba Homes Within Reach goal is to create 12-15 affordable homes for workforce families living and employed in the western suburbs of Hennepin County through the use of community land trust practice.
Community or Constituency Served
West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust, dba Homes within Reach (HWR) service area is Hennepin County, exclusive of Minneapolis. This extensive area was chosen in recognition of the interconnection of suburban Hennepin County communities, the challenges of providing affordable housing within the suburbs and the need for additional suburban workforce housing. HWR's target market is households with incomes at 80% or less of Area Median Income (AMI).

HWR service area is the western suburbs of Hennepin County, currently serving the following communities of Brooklyn Park, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Edina, Golden Valley, New Hope, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Richfield, St. Louis Park and Wayzata
