Accomplishments
Last year, in 2015, Semcac assisted 26,098 unduplicated individuals. 3,393 had disabilities, 9,582 were senior citizens. Rolling Hills Transit, public bussing, provided 59,375 low-cost rides and 16,501 rides were given via the Volunteer Driving Program. Semcac Clinic provided 2,753 health services to 1,694 patients including 221 women who were screened for cervical cancer. Head Start provided 379 children with early childhood education ages Birth - 5 years with 132 transitioning to kindergarten. Senior Nutrition provided 226,917 noontime, nutritious meals in a congregate setting and 81,719 hot meals delivered via Meals on Wheels, 540 individuals received caregiver support. 1,482 households were assisted by our 4 food shelves. 40 people found shelter at the homeless shelter. 705 families received holiday gifts for children. 21 homes were rehabilitated. 6,144 households received energy assistance. 584 households received weatherization services.
Current Goals
Semcac utilizes the Community Action National Performance Goals in the agency's strategic plan. 1) Low income people become for self-sufficient, 2) The conditions are improved of low-income people's lives, 3) Low-income people own a stake in their community, 4) Partnerships among supporters and providers of services to low-income people are achieved. 5) Agencies increase their capacity to achieve results, 6) Low-income people, especially vulnerable populations, achieve their potential by strengthening family and other supportive systems.
Community or Constituency Served
Semcac serves those who are low-income, at and below poverty level, as well as some moderate income households of southeastern Minnesota. Serving the 7 designated counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Mower, Houston, Steele and Winona with limited services in the 4 additional counties of Rice, Goodhue, Olmsted, Wabasha and Waseca.

Semcac serves the southeastern region of Minnesota with services offered in the counties of Dodge, Fillmore. Freeborn, Houston, Steele, Mower and Winona, and limited services are also offered in the counties of Goodhue, Rice, Wabasha and Waseca.
