Accomplishments
In FY2011, Scholarship America awarded 170,000 total scholarships and distributed $205,000,000. This includes $43 million distributed to students by our independent chapters, as well as deferred awards. *Dollars for Scholars distributed $43.3 million to 40,860 students *Families of Freedom distributed $13.7 million to 783 students *Scholarship Management Services distributed $161.6 million to 66,011 students *Dreamkeepers distributed $2.3 million to more than 5,000 students since 2004 *451 Collegiate Partners committed to using Scholarship America funds to fill unment student need or reduce the self-help portion of student loans
Current Goals
In FY2011 Scholarship America launched a new strategic plan, Creating Vibrant Futures, with the ultimate goal of helping 750,000 students to complete their education beyond high school with manageable levels of debt by 2025. We have established new ways of measuring our impact that relate to this goal. In FY2012, our goals are as follows: *24% of Dollars for Scholars chapters will offer a total of 3,100 multi-year scholarships to help students finish their degrees, with an average award of $1,075 *Dreamkeepers will expand from 31 colleges to 37 colleges nationwide, with an average persistence rate of 80% *The Scholarship America National Office will raise $500,000 toward the new National Fund *Scholarship Management Services scholarships' average award will be $2,400
