The Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Foundation is dedicated to educating the public and medical community about sarcomas, supporting sarcoma patients and their loved ones, and funding research directed toward developing new treatments and finding a cure for sarcoma cancers.

Accomplishments
1) Education: Launch Red Flags of Sarcoma cancer Campaign, Gov Dayton declared last week of July as sarcoma awareness week, Produced a RIS Video of "Sarcoma Cancers from Never Heard of It to We caught it early" - viewed over 8,000 times, increase participation of medical advisory committee, Funded three RIS sarcoma scholars at University of Minnesota Medical School 2) Patient and Loved One Support: Held sarcoma family picnic for 450 sarcoma patients, survivors and loved ones, produced new edition of the RIS Sarcoma Patient Starter Notebook and made available through U of MN, Mayo Clinch, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, . RIS website and mailed free of charge to any sarcoma patient in North America. Held January 2013 Sarcoma Gathering, March Sarcoma Mini-Medical School 3) Research- Funded $100,000 in externally reviewed research projects at the University of Minnesota
Current Goals
Education: educate more medical professional about the warning signs of sarcoma cancers. Increase awareness using creative means including theater and news stories and commentaries. Increase support of RIS sarcoma scholars. Increase our collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Support: Conduct at least major sarcoma patient support activities Research: Increase funding of sarcoma research
