Community Clean Water Wells$740,477
Educational Trips to Haiti$34,139
We created a record 55 community managed clean water wells in rural Haiti in 2014 and another record 60 community wells in 2015, trained local water management committees for each to maintain them, delivered sanitation education to these communities and motivated people to increase the number of latrines, impacting about 17,000 people. Achieved and maintained a record 95% of households having latrines in communities where we have educated and intervened with our CPE model of potable water and sanitation training.
Current Goals
Achieve a new, 3rd year in a row record of 65 community managed wells. Increase the number of communities that are open defecation free and maintain or improve the 95%+ record of household with latrines in areas where we intervene. Become an increasingly public thought leader in sustainable development for potable water, sanitation and hygiene in developing countries. Increase the number of board members from 12 to 20
Community or Constituency Served
People who live in rural Haiti and get their water from natural sources such as rivers, streams, potholes, which are almost always contaminated. We also have built some public secondary schools for teenage students in small towns.
